About

Hello there fellow traveler!

My name is Karen, a transplant to Virginian, who is a Financial Analyst by day and intrepid wanderer any chance I get. I'm working hard to leave my day job to embark on new adventures.

Like many of you, I went to college, found a job, got married, and focused on living happily ever after. Well in 2016, my "happily ever after" ended after 22 years and decided it was time to experience places I had only read or seen in photographs. I took a hiatus from my professional career and spent 10 months traveling through Greece, Mexico, and the Caribbean in hopes of experiencing the power of solo traveling.

Since embarking on those travels, I have gained a new appreciation for life, cultures, people, and the environment. I have learned to document my adventures  because memories and experiences are better than any material object.

“All that is gold does not glitter, not all that wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.”
